Pedestal Voltages

Here’s what 20, 30 and 50-amp RV pedestal outlets should measure with a multimeter…

Hey Mike,

I know you keep all this stuff in your head, but I need some reminders. Can you post the diagrams of what voltages should measure on campground pedestals? Thanks very much. - Sammy R.

  1. Good afternoon, we are having an issue with our motorhome, or possibly the park power. The other night our Watchdog shut off power with line 2 voltage.

The next it was discovered that the meter had melted internally and one wire had broken.

Park is stating our coach draws to much power and caused the issue, but neither of the circuit breakers between hookup and the meter tripped.

    1. The campground is incorrect. As you noted, the circuit breakers in their pedestal should trip if you were drawing too much amperage. Their problem is likely loose terminating screws or corrosion on the copper or aluminum conductors. Do you have any pictures you could send me?
